Gary Williams, Sec/Treasurer of Local 674, has been representing Local 674 at the International Conventions for over 50 years. There have been many incredible changes in music as a business and a way to make a living. But one thing never changes, the joy that hearing the best of the best brings to music-lovers everywhere.

John is a member of Local 47 - Los Angeles, CA. From the Bronx originally, John began his career as a composer, guitarist, producer & engineer. Work as a musician led to Local 47, advocating for musicians’ rights. John has served as an International Executive Board member since 2016, and serves as president on the Music Fund of Los Angeles Board of Directors. John Acosta served as president of Local 47 from January 2015 - 2021, representing over 7,000 professional musicians in the southern CA.

U.S. National Music Council to Honor Ray and Vivian Chew

Award presented

One of the highlights of the opening night reception was watching the U.S. National Music Council award Ray and Vivian Chew a special award. You may know Ray Chew from shows like "Dancing with the Stars" and American Idol and many others. After the awards ceremony, we were treated with a concert by the Ray Chew band and other musicians. Best. Band. Ever.  Find out more about this amazing couple and how they won this award at this site.
